I have a thing about colour
I notice it everywhere.
In a painting. On a facade. In the way a particular shade changes as the light moves across it.
And yes, sometimes a colour is simply wrong.
Because colour never exists in isolation. Put it next to a wall, a material, a piece of art, a particular light — or a person — and things start to happen.
That’s where it gets interesting.
Why this colour?
What happens when the afternoon light comes in?
Why does that particular material suddenly look pink next to it?
These are the questions I find myself asking, again and again.
Colour has been at the heart of my work for many years. My background in interior design, together with my experience as a colour consultant with Farrow & Ball and Ressource Peintures, has taught me to look closely, compare, question and trust my eye.
Not everything has an immediate explanation. Sometimes a colour simply feels right. Sometimes it doesn’t. The skill lies in knowing when to trust that instinct — and when to keep looking.
Unlock Colour brings an independent perspective on colour to architects, designers, scenographers and cultural organisations.
Not to redesign a project, but to look at the colour decisions within it — how they relate to the architecture, materials, light, artworks and the experience of the space.
Sometimes that means developing a direction from the beginning. Sometimes it means questioning a single colour that isn’t quite right.
Either way, the aim is the same: to find the right relationship for the place.
A little more about me
Based again in Paris and working internationally, I’ve spent many years living and working in New York, Berlin, Brussels, and Madrid.
Art and architecture have always been my strongest influences.
One thing hasn’t changed: I still spend every waking minute looking up at my surroundings.
